Ryerson Inside/Outside Fabrication Sales Representative in Little Rock, Arkansas
Position Description: We are currently seeking a qualified Fabrication Inside/Outside Sales Representative to join our Little Rock, AR sales team. Successful candidate will perform all sales functions including pricing, inventory control, customer service, etc. Liaison between Procurement, Outside Sales, Operations, Shipping, and Customers. This position involves a high volume of customer contact and reports to our Ryerson Advanced Processing Division.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Collect and analyze data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to manufacture metal products and assemblies.
Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues
Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labor expenses
Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labor requirements, and other factors
Read blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates
Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on estimates
Use sophisticated computer software to calculate estimates
Evaluate a product’s cost effectiveness or profitability
Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable
Prepare estimates for clients and other business managers
Develop project plans for the duration of the project
Coordinate the activities of various departments to ensure appropriate overall account management is successful and customer's requirements are met.
Works with service center and regional sales/product management to develop quotations and contract proposals that are responsive to customer needs and result in profitable sales for Ryerson.
Understands and keeps up-to-date on the competitive environment and provides market intelligence to sales management to help shape service center sales strategies, price levels and working capital decisions.
Involves service center management, regional management, Global Accounts, or other corporate management, and Ryerson supplier representatives in establishing and maintaining relationships at all levels of customer organization.
Overall customer account management including implementation of MOU's margin analysis, competitive market information, and quality improvement initiatives.
Provide pre-sales technical expertise to the sales team and customers during the sales process
Provide technical input into bid proposals, projects and technical documents within the sales process and identifies additional sales opportunities with existing customers
Install and demonstrate the organization's products at customer sites
Collaborate with sales teams to develop and recommend products and services to meet customers' requirements.
Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of the organization's and competitors' products and/or services
Other job-related duties as assigned by management
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Estimating/Sales experience
3-5 previous sales experience in engineering/estimation/sales
Aggressive, competitive, and self-motivated attitude
Proficiency with Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel)
Strong math aptitude
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Problem solving / conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Ability to work well and excel while working with a team or individually
