MAINTENANCE MECHANIC - PLANT-MAINTENANCE - FULL TIME
JOB SUMMARY: Independently perform journeyman level duties in designing, constructing, installing or maintaining building systems or equipment, ensuring that the finished product meets all standards and requirements for safety, is functional, efficient and comfortable for the occupants or users. Monitors problems in equipment or systems and recommends solutions to alleviate them.
Continuously improves and upgrades skills to keep up with technology

Reviews magazines, journals, trade publications, books and other

Experience: : At least five years work experience in general mechanics or successful completion of four-year apprenticeship program in a mechanical field.
Physical Requirements: This job requires, at various times, the following physical activities; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, and hearing, sometimes exerting in excess of 20-100 pounds of force.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform daily activities, operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, and to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
The worker is subjected to both outside and inside environmental conditions (including extreme cold and extreme heat), noise sufficient for the worker to have to shout to be heard, vibration, and hazards (including electrical current, high places, and exposure to heat). Also, frequently in close quarters and exposed to chemicals and infectious diseases.
Must possess a working knowledge of schematics and blue prints, able to perform duties using them.
Must possess a working knowledge of codes and standards.
Must possess a working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting.
Must possess good communication skills.
Must possess a working knowledge of test equipment utilized in general mechanics.
