MANAGER-BILLING - HEART CLINIC ARKANSAS-KANIS - FULL TIME 8A-5P
JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates the activities of staff to ensure timely billing account processing. Ensures cash receipts and accounts receivable reduction activity is functioning optimally. Understands complex billing rules and educates staff and physicians as needed. Understands and implements billing software set up and user access. Works closely with Director of Finance or Director of Operations with special projects as directed and any other duty assigned.
Attention to Detail: Able to input and analyze medical financial and clinical information for proper coding and compliance to applicable billing rules. Oversees collection reconciliations and maintains locked deposits and transports to bank.
Supervisory Abilities: Recruits, orients and manages appropriate staff to ensure operational objectives in billing dept. Recommends, counsels, and coaches to improve staff performance. Conducts performance appraisals and suggests appropriate actions and monitors improvement.
Teamwork Orientation: Sets key performance indicators of billing staff. Coordinates all billing and follow-up initiatives including report generation and distribution, to be conducted by billing staff. Assigns and reassigns staff in accordance with daily workflow objectives. Monitors and reports on all accounts receivable key performance indicators to the Director of Finance along with any other billing department issues on a regular basis.

Education: Bachelor Degree and Coding Certification required.
Experience: Five years of supervisory experience in billing department of a healthcare facility.
Physical Requirements: This job requires sitting for prolonged periods of time at a computer, reaching, walking, talking, hearing, and finger dexterity. Must have close visual acuity to perform daily activities.
Skills: Must possess demonstrated skills in computer and business machine operations and knowledge of applicable software used in the job function, attention to detail, good communication skills, excellent knowledge of cpt codes, diagnoses and insurance company requirements, ability to perform the functions of staff being supervised and effective leadership and supervisory skills, ability to assemble and prepare data in report form and generate computerized reports as required, and possesses reasoning and problem solving skills and ability to assist Management in complex projects.
