Specialty: Pediatrics

Sherwood Family Medical Center (SFMC), in conjunction with Arkansas Health Group (AHG), is seeking a Pediatrician to join an established group of four Pediatricians and four Family Medicine physicians. The recruitment need is due to the pending retirement of one of the Pediatricians and will provide the opportunity for a physician to step into a fully established practice.

SFMC Pediatricians see an average of 5,200 annual visits or 20 patients per day. In addition to clinic work the group rounds on newborns at Baptist Health Medical Center- NLR. BHMC-NLR has a Med/Peds hospitalist who covers the pediatric service during the day so the physicians are not responsible for hospital call during the day. The group shares call with another local pediatric group and call is generally one night per week and one weekend every seven weeks.

In clinic each Pediatrician has a dedicated nurse to address patient needs as well as a pool of nurses to room patients. There are behavioral health specialists that work at the clinic site so that support is readily available for patients when needed. The clinic also has a pediatric nurse who functions as a care coordinator and a referral specialist to assist with scheduling patients for specialty consults. There is x-ray and lab in house.

This position is employed with Arkansas Health Group, the employed physician group for Baptist Health, and offers a base salary and opportunity for incentive compensation.

Sherwood is a community of 30,000 people located just a few miles north of Little Rock. Sherwood offers a hometown atmosphere while conveniently located to the entertainment and amenities of a larger metropolitan area.
