  • SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objectve of position)

  • This position is responsible for managing the Baptist Health Materials Management department. Responsibilities include development and management of the following: Operation & Quality Management. Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Supply Chain department. Customer Service. Responsible for enacting processes and practices which result in the department successfully and consistently meeting our customers needs. Safety & Housekeeping. Understands and enforces all department and applicable company and government safety rules and regulations. Stewardship. Proactively looks for value enhancement opportunities and implements cost reduction initiatives. Employee Investment. Defines annual education and development goals for the department. Coaches employees to become more engaged and prepares them to be successful.

This position may also be assigned special projects and given updated assignments.

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience

    1. Education. A. High school diploma or equivalent required. B. College degree in a business related field preferred with 5 years of related experience; will consider candidate without college degree who has completed some amount of course work in a business related field, possesses years of related work experience, and who is willing to complete needed education and training courses required to successfully fulfill job duties.
  1. Knowledge, Skills, an Abilities: A. Three to five years direct management experience performing staff evaluations, hiring, budget planning, process evaluation and improvement.. B. Familiar with hospital supply chain operations within the Central Supply, Operating Room, and Cath Lab departments. C. Ability to interact well with all levels and departments throughout the system. D. Ability to guide and work through complex issues with multi-disciplinary teams. E. Strong communication and writing skills. F. Excellent computer skills; ability to quickly learn and constructively apply new systems. G. Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills. H. Creative thinking and problem solving skills. I. Flexibility; willingness to lead and support change, take on new assignments. J. Proven track record of dependability. K. Ability to work in a self directed manner
